Keppel Divests 477 Mil Worth Real Estate Assets And Investments
Keppel Limited has completed the sale of real estate assets worth $477 million as part of its accelerated monetisation strategy. The latest divestments bring the total value of monetised assets to $915 million year-to-date, with the group aiming to reach a target of $10–$12 billion by 2026. This includes the sale of Keppel’s entire stake in a commercial building in India for $379 million and its stake in Vietnamese developer Nam Long for $58 million. In addition, Keppel has divested a partial 2.5% stake in Smartworks Coworking Spaces after the latter’s IPO in India in July, and a 30% effective stake in one of its residential projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to a third-party partner. The divestments of the stakes in Nam Long and Smartworks have been completed, while the other two transactions are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to fulfilment of conditions. This divestment strategy has been driven by Keppel’s accelerating monetisation task force (AMTF), led by Lee Kok Chew, who says the group’s disciplined approach and strong commitment to its goals have enabled the identification and structuring of transactions to optimise divestment speed and exit value. Keppel is set to report its first-half results for the period ending June on July 31, and its shares closed 2 cents higher, or 0.25% above at $8.18 on July 30.
